Different ways to sunny days


Dear Participants!

I want to wish you all Welcome to Albania to our fantastic camp.
We are aware of the fact that for some of you travelling to Albania means quite a destination and it might be the most difficult part of organizing your summer. That is the reason why we have had a look at the possible ways to come to Vlora, the venue of the Active camp 2009.

There are planes, including low cost companies, ferries, buses coming to Tirana. If you wish to travel by train, there is a solution for that as well. Just find the most suitable way in the following text:

By Plane:
There are everyday planes from all the European Destinations to Tirana Airport .
What you can do is to see which one is the best for you!

From Vienna with Austrian Airlines and you can fly directly to Tirana. It will take just 1 hour and 30 minutes. For more information’s see www.aua.com

From Budapest to Tirana with Malev. I it will take just 1 hour and 20 minutes. For more information’s see www.malev.com

From Munich and Cologne to Tirana with Lufthansa. It will take around 2 hours. For more information see www.lufthansa.com

From Belgrade to Tirana with JAT . It will take 50 minutes. For more information’s see www.jat.com

From Sofia to Tirana with Bulgarian air . It will take 1 hour. For more information’s see www.air.bg

From Ljubljana to Tirana with Adria airways. It will take 1 hour. For more information’s see www.adria.si  

From London to Tirana with British airways . It will take 2 hours and 20 minutes. For more information’s see www.britishairways.com

From Athens to Tirana with Olympic airways . It will take 1 hour and 20 minute . For more information’s see www.olympicairlines.com Also you can take the direct plane from Athens to Tirana with Aegean airlines (Low cost company) It will take 1 hour and 20 minutes .See www.aegeanair.gr  or the other low cost company www.skyexpress.com

From Istanbul to Tirana with Turkish Airlines . It will take 1 hour and 30 minutes. For more see www.turkishairlines.com

From Rome and Milan to Tirana with Alitalia . It will take 1 hour and 20 minutes . For more see www.alitalia.com

From Rome, Milan, Pisa, Ancon, Bari, Venice, Bergamo, Bologna, Brindizi (Italy) to Tirana with Belleair. This is a low cost company operating everyday from all destinations in Italy to Tirana . For more information’s see www.belleair.it

We suggest you to travel from your country with low cost lines to Italy or Greece and then by Belleair or Aegean ( low cost companies) fly to Tirana .
There will be an organised bus from the Airport to the Camp venue. It takes around 2 hours. The price for the bus is 20 Euro. We suggest you to book your flight on time because the prices are increasing.

By Ferry
There are everyday ferry from Ancon, Trieste, Bari, Brindizi (Italy) to Vlora and Durres in Albania. You can fly to Italy with low cost companies to costlines in Italy and from there you can take a ferry to Vlora or Durres. The return ticket will cost around 50 Euro. There will be an organised bus from the Airport to the Camp venue. It takes around 2 hours. The price for the bus is 20 Euro.

By Bus
It´s possible to take a bus from the following destinations.

Skopje (Macedonia): there are buses from Skopje to Tirana everyday. Return ticket costs 40 Euro. It takes around 10 hours of travelling.

Podgorica (Montenegro): there are buses from Podgorica to Tirana everyday. Return ticket costs 40 Euro. It takes around 6 hours of travelling .

Athens (Greece): there are buses from Athens to Tirana everyday. The return ticket costs 50 Euro. It  takes around 8 hours of travelling. The buses from Athens leave at 20:00 everyday from the station called : AG KONSTANDINOS 44. ATHENS 104 31

There will be an organised bus from the Airport to the Camp venue. It takes around 2 hours. The price for the bus is 20 Euro.


By Train
Rail transportation in Albania is old and the only international connection is with Montenegro. The trains are very slow. If  you want to travel from your country by train (for example by InterRail), we suggest you to go to Montenegro and from there get the bus to Tirana.
