Active summer camp in Albania - travel with us!

If you are wondering how to get to Active summer camp in Albania cheap and still comfortable - Active brings you solution.

Active is organizing a bus that will go from Slovakia through Hungary and Croatia and will bring us to the camp place - Vlora. The bus would leave from Slovakia on 18th, would go 19 hours and would reach Vlora on 19th of July. The travel back would be on 25th from Vlora to Bratislava. This bus would cost 120 Euro.

So YOU just need to find cheap travel to Slovakia (train or bus connenctions are very good, Ryanair and other low cost airlines are flying to Bratislava or Prague, Brno - Czech republic or Vienna-Austria both very close to Bratislava). This travel expense is covered by Active up to 200 Euro.

...We need a world free from drugs! Active – sobriety, friendship and peace is today celebrating its 20th anniversary. In the last 20 years the youth temperence movement in Europe has been steadily growing and getting stronger. Being proud on the work we did the last 20 years, we look at the situation of young people in Europe today and we are angry.

8/27/2010 - Euroean youth has to join forces to help developing countries

We have different backgrounds, our countries have different histories and when we join we can learn from each other. In this way we can avoid making the same mistakes more than once. There are many countries that are a lot less developed than the European ones. When European youth join forces, we should be able to help developing countries.

8/24/2010 - Moving of the office still in the process

The summer is almost over, our volunteers Janika, Alari and Sanja have left the office and are up to new challenges in their lives. The new volunteers: Tadas, Eliina and Alyona are coming in the middle of September 2010 but before that, Active office has to be completely moved to Stockholm. We are moving these days, the furnitures are at both places, the Secretary General as well and that is why it takes us a bit longer time to answer emails. We apologize for that and wish us good luck with moving so everything is back to normal state and speed.

Are you curious who is nominated for the next Active board? It is public now. The nomination committee is done with their part of job and we have the suggestion for the Active board 2010-2012.

7/26/2010 - Throw the dice against tobacco

Active has produced a board game which will be introduced in Experience2010. “Throw the dice against tobacco” is a fun interactive board game through which the players can learn a lot about tobacco on the global scale. It can be played with up to 5 players with a minimum age of 12 years. In the game you are responsible for your own country and with some knowledge, luck and strategic thinking you will lead your country to be a healthy non-smoking community.

7/26/2010 - Youth Anti-alcohol campaign in Ukraine

Our member organisation Better from Ukraine is doing great job to reduce alcohol consumption among ukrainian youth by popularizing healthy life style and raising awareness about impacts of alcohol consumption. The campaign is very complex and consists of blogs, info materials, street actions, workshops, seminars and trainings for youth in aga between 14 - 25 years.

7/13/2010 - Head up in Switzerland in Albanian

IOGT Switzerland has a very attractive prevention website with games and tests where one can ask psychologists questions about drug and alcohol related issues. The webpage has been untill now only in german language but not anymore. As there are many immigrants from Kosovo living in Switzerland, the webpage was translated into Albanian.
