Cannabis messes with your mind!

On 24th of February the Department of Health of Great Britain has released a new campaign about
what cannabis (hash and marijuana) does to the brain.
I like the campaign because it is informative and the aim is to kill all those myths existing around cannabis.
However, they are not denying that cannabis is "relaxing" for some users, which makes the campaign more reliable (since many users can identify with that point of view).
But on the other hand they clearly emphasize the negative aspects of a  regular use, like paranoia, panic attacks and memory loss. They are telling the negative aspects of a cannabis-abuse also in a long time perspective, while many cannabis-users think of the  inmediate consequences, like being relaxed and laugh a lot. In the campains web-page you can experience the different phases and read about the damages caused by cannabis abuse.

I hope the campain reaches out to a lot of young people. Cannabis is the most commonly used drug after alcohol and some don´t even consider it a drug, which unfortunately is also the case with alcohol. I am so amazed anyone would actually walk around in a t-shirt with a marijuana-leaf. I mean, what is the next step in that glorifying direction? To wear a t-shirt with an injection needle, saying "join the heroine club"!?

I think ACTIVE is a great forum to promote and encourage these kinds of initiatives and campaigns. The gloryfying of drug abuse has to stop. We are doing a great job to promote sobriety and its coolness. Let´s
continue our work!
