Since we didn’t all know each other, we were supposed to have some teambuilding activities on Friday evening, but as our normal schedules are as they are, boardies arrived late at night, and so we had a chill-out evening chatting instead –and it was very cosy. We even got to greet two “extra” EVS volunteers, working for IOGT in Denmark, and their group of Faroese youngsters who had spent a few days in Örebro teambuilding themselves.
So skipping the planned teambuilding activities we went straight for meeting-mode Saturday morning –and we worked until eight in the evening. We had long discussions (yai!), lots of information (very useful, even for “old” boardies like me) and decisions being made. And it felt nice. It felt so nice to see the board members being involved, both at the meeting and during our get-to-know-each-other-time. We had an entertaining break during our meeting taking photos for the webpage, outside on a green patch where the autumn leaves made the background as warm as my heart for seeing the new board form a friendship. Some of the photos are on our new webpage -go take a look at “board”.
We also got to spend time with the volunteers, who took part in the teambuilding activity late Saturday evening –it was about midnight or so before we finally got started. But fun-time with boardies and office people trumps lack of sleep at any time!
